Beat in the Mersey

Beat in the Mersey | A Chellew Production

Cunard Musical History Tour & Afternoon Tea.

Official IFB2014 Networking Event.

This unique experience combines a special “behind the scenes” tour of the world famous Cunard Building with an animated mix of dance and music inspired time travel. Tickets include a scrumptious Afternoon Tea and a glass of Prosecco, as well as unique photo opportunities.

Liverpool as the Second City of Empire and acclaimed late 19th Century New York of Europe rocked and rolled with music long before it moulded the Beatles into world brands. One of the city’s oldest cultural ambassadors, William Edward Willink, the sage 158 year old architect of the Cunard building will lead IFB delegates on an exclusive animated experience through much of the formative African and Irish beats, Jazz solos, dance bands and American sounds that helped make Liverpool the most American of all English cities and the genius behind a Merseybeat that conquered the world in the 1960s.

“Beat In The Mersey was certainly one of the unexpected highlights to our visit to the UK. A very talented cast and wonderful experience.” I would not hessitate to recommend this tour and will certainly be back. Linda Smith (USA)

“Its fantastic! Its a kind of living theatre tour. Its things coming to life in front of you; people dancing. To walk through the spaces and see where people put their luggage and know everything around you is as it was in the buildings shipping heyday is something special. Brilliant.” Neil Fitzmaurice (Actor, Writer, Comedian)
